Head of Britain's police chiefs says force institutionally racist'
Gavin Stephens, the leader of Britain's police chiefs' organisation, has said that policing is institutionally racist and called for a fundamental redesign of national policies to eliminate discrimination.
Stephens emphasized that institutional racism doesn't mean that all police officers are racist, but that the way policies and practices have been designed and implemented have led to disproportionate outcomes for black people. [ more ]
