Braves reliever Joe Jiménez underwent a "cleanup" surgery on his left knee, president of baseball operations Alex Anthopoulos told reporters (Including David O'Brien of The Athletic). The right-hander missed the entire '25 season after undergoing surgery to repair cartilage damage in that same knee last November. While the framing of the surgery as a "cleanup" doesn't sound especially alarming, the timeline isn't clear.
Wilson was hurt in the third quarter of the 27-20 win Sunday when he came down hard on the knee after going for a deep pass down the sideline. Wilson, who had no catches in a game for the first time in his four NFL seasons, never came back in. The England star has missed the Blues' past eight games since being withdrawn in the first half of the 2-1 defeat at Manchester United on September 20. Palmer has been troubled by a persistent groin injury and his return date, initially set for 'soon' after the October international break, has already been pushed back.
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James will miss opening night of his record 23rd NBA season against the Warriors due to sciatica that will be re-evaluated in three to four weeks, the team announced Thursday. The 40-year-old superstar will be sidelined at least until the end of October with sciatica pain in the nerves running from the buttocks and down the back of the legs on his right side.
