Huawei's Mate 80 series and Mate X7 use new Kirin 9030 chipsets with two SoC variants differing in thread counts and target models.
The display is the same across the two phones. It's a 6.75-inch 1-120Hz LTPO OLED panel with a 1280x2832px resolution, 1.07 billion colors, and full coverage of the P3 color gamut. The screen has 1440Hz PWM dimming and a 300Hz touch sampling rate. Huawei claims the panel is the brightest ever on a phone reaching up to 8,000 nits! The protective sheet on top is the second-gen Kunlun Glass.
Rumors surrounding Huawei's upcoming Mate 80 lineup have been gaining momentum in recent weeks. Most recently, a rumor claimed that the Mate 80 Pro+ variant will feature dual periscope cameras. The latest leak now claims that the Huawei Mate 80 series may get an eSIM-only variant in certain regions. While earlier reports hinted at a redesigned rear camera module, a new rumor now sheds light on the camera specifications of the Mate 80 Pro+. In a post on Weibo, tipster DCS notes that the Mate 80 Pro+ will feature dual 50MP periscope cameras with one offering a medium focal length and the other a longer zoom.
