That 2025 NOFO that dropped in November was the precursor of what the future's gonna look like. I strongly believe that, for the majority of wild and crazy things in that NOFO, that is what's going to drop in July of 2026. If that happens, dozens of people in the region could fall back into homelessness.
An attempt by housing advocates to take control of the Sierra Club's Loma Prieta Chapter has gone down in flames. The chapter, which covers San Benito, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties, is an influential voice in promoting environmental projects. It also endorses candidates for such offices as city council and county supervisors. The chapter's board elections this fall featured a slate of candidates backed by the organization's board and another backed by housing advocates.
Rep. Mark Takano expressed concerns that the bill provides insufficient solutions to the problems faced by veterans, emphasizing the need for more comprehensive options to avoid foreclosures.
