For the first time in its 10-year history, the annual UCLA Hollywood Diversity Report separated streaming from theatrical releases for analysis.The 10th annual UCLA Hollywood Diversity Report has found that streaming releases are more inclusive than theatrical films.UCLA sociologists Dr. Darnell Hunt and Dr. Ana-Christina Ramón analyzed the top box office performers and streaming hits of 2022, finding that race/ethnic and gender diversity in many key jobs for theatrical releases backslid to pre-pandemic 2019 levels.
