Netflix pulls original film as religious viewers condemn meat-eating characters
Netflix pulled the film 'Annapoorani: the Goddess of Food' after complaints from right-wing Hindu groups about a scene showing the main character eating meat.
The film was criticized for its portrayal of Hindu deity Lord Ram eating meat while in exile and for promoting a conspiracy theory about Muslim men marrying and converting Hindu women. [ more ]
