Aberdeen have signed goalkeeper Per Kristian Bratveit on an 18-month contract after the Norway international's deal with Stromsgodset expired last month. Bratveit will provide backup to number one Dimitar Mitov after Nick Suman picked up a serious ankle injury in training. The 29-year-old came through the academy at hometown club Haugesund, making his first-team debut aged 18 in 2014 and playing over 100 times. He signed for Swedish club Djurgardens in 2019 and subsequently won his solitary Norway cap in 2020.
"Following Joe's unfortunate injury suffered last week we felt it was important to provide more cover in the goalkeeper position," R's chief executive Christian Nourry told the club website, external. "We feel very privileged to be able to add Ben's character, quality and experience to the group for the coming months."
I will be, for sure, a player who is always putting the team above my personal goals. I think maybe people see me as a good person to be around, a good person to have in the team in terms of what I bring and so it's not only about me, it's about the team.
