Florida leads nation in child drownings. Lawmakers want to fix that
Florida continues to lead the nation in child drowning deaths, with at least 97 kids drowning in 2023.
Legislators have proposed bills to address the issue, including one that would provide free swim lesson vouchers to children 4 and under in low-income families. [ more ]
