The U.S. is set to rescind the Roadless Area Conservation Rule, allowing industrialization in previously protected forest areas.
The Vietnamese government, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the have combined for a $102.4 million investment designed to protect forests and boost rural incomes in Vietnam's coffee lands. The initiative, known as RECAF, involves blended financing, including a $32.4 million IFAD loan, a $35 million GCF grant and $35 million in domestic co-financing, according to IFAD, an agency of the United Nations dedicated to eradicating rural poverty.
Red Cabin is an experimental holiday developed as part of the Merryda Wiki World - Secret Camp, a forest-based project composed of more than a dozen discreet treehouses set within a metasequoia woodland inhabited by migratory birds. The project, located in Dongxihu District, , forms part of Wiki World's ongoing 'Wiki Building School' initiative, which explores alternative living models through co-building with nature.

Locals blame the decline on erratic rainfall and rising temperatures, symptoms of a changing climate. In response, the ethnic minority community has turned to traditional conservation practices. Chiefs and local leaders have banned tree felling and other harmful activities in nearby forests.
