FRISCO, Texas -- Tony Pollard had been officially named a Pro Bowl running back for about a minute when his phone rang.

Patriots "And I think that's where it did get personal."The Patriots' offense was so miserable this year that Mac Jones began calling around outside of the Patriots' organization for help, according to former NFL quarterback and current football analyst Chris Simms.The situation made Jones unhappy, and Jones was openly talking about it during the season, Simms said during an appearance on "NBC's Pro Football Talk Live."
"He was telling people he wasn't happy," Simms said.

The New England Patriots entered Week 17 with their backs against the wall.After losing back-to-back games and dropping to 7-8 on the season, they needed a win over the Miami Dolphins to keep their playoff hopes alive.The team delivered.While it again played some up-and-down football, it was able to come away with a W: the Patriots beat their division rivals 23-21, leap-frogging them in the standings and staying on the inside track to earn the final wild card spot in the AFC.

Sean McVay pondered many uncertainties, about himself and his team, before deciding to return for his seventh season as coach of the Rams.But quarterback Matthew Stafford 's physical condition was apparently not among them.McVay said Tuesday that there would be "no limitations" on Stafford when the Rams begin offseason workouts on April 17.

Whether they win, lose or tie on Thursday, the Titans will have to beat the Jaguars in Week 18 in order to win the AFC South and that circumstance means they have to consider resting players even if it lessens their chances of beating Dallas.
