"Every moment with Pedro I tried to cherish. It definitely did feel like the end was looming... The realization that we were never going to do [this] again... was sort of like a grief in itself."

If I had to call it something, it would be 'reverence.' It's not method, it's not 'a way.' I believe storytelling is a kind of religion.

"There's always two reactions. You have your personal reaction, which is the 'who, what, when, where, why.' In the beginning [his death] was a tough one to swallow. I've been very connected to this character for a while. Once you get past that ocean of emotion, at the end of the day, so much of what we do as artists is really about the bigger picture."

The application process included several forms and a lengthy pre-filming questionnaire asking us to detail how we met, why we were moving, and what we did for work.
