A major appeals court upheld most of the gag order prohibiting former President Donald Trump from making public statements about foreseeable witnesses in the federal case accusing him of conspiring to defraud the U.S. in seeking to overturn the 2020 election results.
The court panel narrowed the order to allow Trump to speak about special counsel Jack Smith but barred him from making statements about certain categories of persons, including witnesses, prosecutors other than Smith, and court personnel and staff family members.
