After years of warnings, Microsoft is finally pulling the plug on EWS

Exchange Web Services in Exchange Online will be disabled by default Oct 1, 2026 and fully shut down Apr 1, 2027; migrate to Microsoft Graph.

Microsoft will phase out Exchange Web Services in Exchange Online beginning October 2026, requiring migration to Microsoft Graph by April 1, 2027.

Microsoft will block EWS access for certain low-tier licenses from March 1, 2026, requiring license upgrades or migration to the Graph API.
