English won the Diamond League 800m in Birmingham, becoming the first Irish male athlete to win a Diamond League race.
Olatunde, who relocated to Florida last year to train under coach Lance Brauman and alongside Olympic 100m champion Noah Lyles, carved four hundredths of a second off the previous Irish record of 10.12, which he also ran in London last year, and was aided by the perfect tailwind of 2.0m/s - the maximum allowed for record purposes. The Tallaght AC athlete finished runner-up in the race, with victory going to Britain's Eugene Amo-Dadzie in 9.87.
Spain has had a remarkable run, securing consecutive international titles and maintaining a fearsome reputation, with only one competitive defeat in over a year.
