The family of a 93-year-old woman killed in her care home is condemning a proposal to allow her killer to spend time outside the secure hospital where he is held.
The killer, Alexander Rawson, was deemed unfit to stand trial for murder and instead underwent a trial of the facts where the jury determined his responsibility for the killing.
Mrs. Dean's family believes that the proposal for escorted leave for Rawson is ill-conceived and abhorrent, and that the families of victims of killers with mental health issues are treated with contempt. [ more ]
