4 months agoNew homes torn down by bulldozers over problems with foundations
Dozens of newbuild homes on the Darwin Green estate in Cambridge are being torn down due to faulty foundations, with 36 properties set to be demolished and remediation to be undertaken on a further 47 plots.
The developers, Barratt and David Wilson, first discovered issues with the foundations in June 2023 and have apologized to residents who had reserved these properties, offering support and alternatives.
The demolition process is expected to take 12 weeks and cost millions of pounds, with water cannons being used to reduce dust. [ more ]
