Immanuel Quickley's 2025-26 season averages include 16.3 points on 42.4% shooting, 34.6% from three, 79.1% from the free throw line, along with 4.2 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 1.1 steals per game in 41 starts for the Raptors so far. At first glance, those numbers aren't terrible - in fact, they're quite passable in most respects. But it's one thing to interpret metrics, and another to focus on the eye test and in-game assessments to draw conclusions.
Herro missed his 13th consecutive game for the Heat during Sunday's win over the New Orleans Pelicans, despite being upgraded to available before the start of the game. The team listed him as "available as part of his ramp-up but is not expected to play." After already missing the first 17 games recovering from offseason ankle surgery, it didn't take long for Herro to almost instantly get sidelined with yet another injury after he returned. Now he has been dealing with a toe injury, and the way that he and the Heat have handled it has been odd.
So far in 21 games played for the Toronto Raptors at the time of writing, Jakob Poeltl is averaging just 9.7 points, which is his lowest mark since the 2020-21 season, on 69.3 percent shooting. He is also averaging 7.7 rebounds, also his lowest since 2020-21, along with 2.1 assists in 25.3 minutes of action per game. Much like I wrote about Immanuel Quickley before him, there is a lot of uncertainty and arguably more disappointment surrounding the Jakob Poeltl discourse heading into 2026.
