The Department of Justice is investigating Democratic Rep. Cori Bush for allegedly misusing campaign funds to pay for private security.
A congressional ethics inquiry had previously raised questions about Bush's use of campaign funds to hire her husband as her security.
Federal law prohibits lawmakers from paying family members to work in their official offices unless they are providing legitimate services to the campaign. [ more ]
