Motherhood encompasses both beautiful and challenging realities, often overlooked in societal narratives.
If you notice your role in the relationship revolves around pitying the other person in some way, get out. The problematic ones were centered on my desire to rewrite the other person's story...but that's not my job. It results in an imbalanced, unhappy friendship.
2024 was insane for me. Layoffs, career progression, then dumping that progression for personal progression. I'm still not quite sure if I've made the right decision; I wake up tired, I'm always designing late into the night, I'm making much less money and spending more than I earn on an upcoming venture that I'm not sure if it'll work out, but I am overall pretty content, and I'm looking forward to what 2025 brings.
"Jury is still out for me on what's my favorite this year. I read Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King recently, and I really loved that, so I am leaning that way.... The Last One by Will Dean was addicting at one point, too, but really fell apart towards the end. Solito by Javier Zamora was FANTASTIC. That actually might be my favorite one this year. Heartwarming and intense at times. Great narration, and it's also a biography, so it's so easy to connect with the narrator."
