Two men (30s) become first road fatalities of 2026, following separate car crashes in Co Longford and Co Kerry

A man in his 30s has died following a three-vehicle crash in Co Longford on Saturday night, marking the first fatal collision of 2026. The incident occurred on the Longford Town side of the N4 after the Edgeworthstown Roundabout at around 7pm and involved two cars and a van. The driver of one of the cars was pronounced dead at the scene, while another man was hospitalised with serious injuries. No other injuries are reported.
