California Gov. Gavin Newsom has released a new $291 billion state spending plan for the 2024-25 budget year, accounting for a $37.9 billion deficit.
Newsom proposes covering the deficit by tapping into reserves, trimming programs, deferring spending, and spreading it out over more years. [ more ]
