The chair represents a fundamental design challenge that balances human ergonomics with artistic expression, serving as both functional object and cultural symbol.
Editorially, the magazine has a modern visual style that is as elegant as the chairs it features. Each issue promotes simplicity and ease in its reading style, opting for uncluttered information - a type of ergonomic reading experience that matches well to the serenity of sitting in a comfortable chair or the act of appreciating the artistic value of furniture. It's academic content with an accessible, contemporary visual voice.
From October 4th, 2025, to January 25th, 2026, the Museum of Wisconsin Art (MOWA) presents Frank Lloyd Wright: Modern Chair Design, the first exhibition to treat the architect's furniture as essential to his vision. Bringing together more than 40 chairs, many never exhibited before, alongside sketches, photographs, digital renderings, and newly constructed works, the show reveals how Wright's furniture was integral to the environments he created.
The Orbit Chair by Julia Kononenko is a striking example of how contemporary furniture can transform the atmosphere of a room, inviting conversation and anchoring the space.
