When Sister Rosetta met Marsha P. Johnson: public art piece in London reimagines Leonardo's Last Supper
US artist Tavares Strachan has unveiled his 21st-century version of Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper at the Royal Academy of Arts in London.
The piece, entitled The First Supper (Galaxy Black), is a monument to the contributions of 12 Black figures throughout history who have overcome oppression. [ more ]
