I'm a New Yorker who tried 5 plain bagels from grocery-store chains and ranked them from worst to best
Traders Joe's bagels lacked flavor and texture, making them the least favorable option.
Aldi's bagels were decent but felt more like rolls than traditional bagels.
Whole Foods bagels had a unique pretzel-like quality, though were light in weight.
