Taking the throne at just 20 years old after the assassination of his father, King Philip II, Alexander quickly made plans to expand his empire. Over the course of just 13 years, he led his armies across Asia Minor, Egypt, Persia, and into parts of India, building one of the largest empires the world had ever seen.
