AWS has unveiled new AI chips, Trainium2 and Graviton4, aimed at improving performance and energy efficiency in model training and general use.

Trainium2 chips offer up to 4x better performance and 2x energy efficiency for model training, while Graviton4 processors promise a 30% increase in general performance when using a trained AI model.

Amazon Web Services has unveiled its next-gen Graviton4 CPUs and Trainium2 AI accelerators at its Re:Invent event.

Graviton4 offers a 30% boost in compute performance, 50% higher core density, and 75% more memory bandwidth compared to Graviton3.

Graviton4 will be available in Amazon's memory-optimized R8g instances with larger configurations. [ more ]
