Emergency shelters open for rough sleepers in London amid freezing temperatures
London's mayor has activated the Severe Weather Emergency Protocol to provide emergency accommodation for rough sleepers as temperatures drop.
All boroughs in London are committed to the mayor's 'In for Good' program, which helps people off the streets permanently before they are asked to leave emergency shelters.
SWEP was active for 18 nights last winter and helped 1,350 people escape rough sleeping. [ more ]
