Jane Austen's own copy of Curiosities of Literature to go up for auction
An exceedingly rare copy of Isaac D'Israeli's Curiosities of Literature, owned by Jane Austen and featuring her annotations, is going up for auction.
The book contains anecdotes and observations on history and literature, with several sections underlined by Austen relating to themes of her novels.
This is the first time the copy and annotations have been seen publicly, making it a major rediscovery and a special occasion. [ more ]
