I've seen a lot of the media in this room get very caught up with the semantics of why Tulsi Gabbard is there. I will tell you why, and the president agrees with this, because election security is essential to national security; and as the director of national intelligence, it is a part of Ms. Gabbard's role to make sure that American elections are free of foreign interference and that American elections are safe and secure.
According to the justice department, Aurelio Luis Perez-Lugones illegally provided sensitive and secret information related to national defense to a reporter who it says then wrote and published at least five articles using it. The indictment was not immediately available, and a press release announcing five charges against Perez-Lugones of mishandling classified information did not identify the journalist or their employer.
Not so long ago, when the FBI raided Donald Trump's 126-room Palm Beach mansion and found scores of classified documents, the notion that the disgraced former president would return to the Oval Office seemed far-fetched to just about anyone paying attention. Just over three years later, Trump is president, and the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Florida is investigating the raid for being part of what the president's allies have branded a "grand conspiracy" against Trump.
This is not America. This is not healthy. This is, and I hate, you know, people don't want to reach this conclusion, this is authoritarianism. We have never seen anything like this in America. Everybody else in the entire world I traveled to Europe twice this year, people were watching out there because they understand history. And they're seeing in America things that happened.
Kash Patel and Pam Bondi, in six months, will not be in the DOJ and at the FBI if these indictments haven't happenedperiod. That I can guarantee you.
