Londoners dialled 999 over spiders in their room and missing KFC as force says just 15% of calls genuine

Only 15% of four million 999 calls this year were genuine emergencies, with many calls made for trivial, non-emergency issues.

Many 999 calls to the Met are non-emergencies; only 15% need immediate dispatch, and misuse and accidental dials strain emergency resources.
