Wexford County Council has not yet used its Green Hub at Enniscorthy Technology Park in Senan House, even though the offices, conference/events space, and boardroom opened nearly three years ago. Offices in the building are occupied by GreenTech HQ, but the council-owned space remains empty. By May 2025, the council spent €614,097 renting office space at the Technology Park and an additional €1.5m on fitting out rooms. At a council meeting, Councillor Paddy Kavanagh requested an update on plans and costs. Director of planning Liz Hore said tenant-finding efforts are progressing, including an IDA partnership for an advance factory and work with two clients for Senan House. Procurement for the council’s own space did not represent value for money, so architects were appointed to assess the second phase fit-out. The council’s chief executive said the green hub investment has been planned for a long time and is intended to complement GreenTech in a growth area.
"Our investment in a green hub there has been on the cards for a long time. We did have some procurement challenges, but we're nearly there now. I see this green hub as being complimentary to what's already there (GreenTech) in what is a growth area. Together, we can make a stronger offer"
