The Ceramics Workshop / Pianca Arquitetura
"Text description provided by the architects. The starting point of the project was the demand to create a space entirely dedicated to ceramics education in São Paulo. Instead of adapting an existing workshop, the clients sought a warehouse that could be transformed from the beginning into a school - with spacious studios filled with shelves, tanks, wheels, boards, and tables that would allow for different activities to occur simultaneously, in addition to appropriate infrastructure and good accessibility."

The project responded to a demand for a space wholly dedicated to ceramics education in São Paulo. Clients prioritized finding a warehouse to convert from the outset rather than retrofitting an existing workshop. The design provides spacious studios equipped with shelves, tanks, wheels, boards, and tables to support a variety of ceramic activities concurrently. The layout enables simultaneous classes and different processes to occur without interference. The facility includes appropriate infrastructure and emphasizes good accessibility. The arrangement focuses on practicality, flexibility, and the necessary support systems for effective ceramics teaching and production.
