"Architecture that celebrates the natural transition between day and night, using light and shadow to create a dynamic play of contrasts. The filled spaces, with their defined functions, are complemented by the emptiness of the courtyards, which act as visual and sensory ventilators."
Sunset Shelter is a 335-square-meter architectural project completed in 2024 by Bon Studio, led by architect Daniela Velez Montoya. The design celebrates the natural transition between day and night through dynamic interplay of light and shadow. Filled spaces with defined functions are balanced by empty courtyards that function as visual and sensory ventilators. The project employs contrasting elements to create spatial depth and atmospheric variation. Cedro rojo materials were incorporated into the construction, contributing to the overall aesthetic and functional design.
