Striking Purple Cabinets Transform a "Very Early 2000s" Kitchen
Briefly

Nate Klass revitalized his kitchen by embracing a bold 1970s aesthetic, swapping the early 2000s look for vibrant colors. He painted cabinets in Farrow & Ball's Brassica, a unique purple-gray shade, and applied the same color to the walls and ceiling with varied finishes. A disco ball and creative touches like contact paper on the dishwasher enhanced the 1970s vibe. This transformation illustrates the power of color and personal touches in home design, showcasing how small spaces can make a big impact when styled intentionally.
The kitchen before was very early 2000s - dark wood IKEA cabinets, pink marble floor, and white subway tile backsplash. It was never bad - it just wasn't that interesting.
I just bit the bullet and painted the cabinets in Farrow & Ball's Brassica - a purple-gray color. The luxurious cabinet color added so much intrigue to the kitchen.
I applied contact paper to the dishwasher and painted it in Farrow & Ball's Brassica, too. Next on my to-DIY list? I plan to do the same with the fridge!
Just the aesthetics needed a boost. The ceiling is high-gloss, while the walls are flat. This careful choice added dimension and sophistication to the space.
