Stack by Studio Moto: Modular Aluminum Shelving from Belgium
"The goods news is Stack has just become available in the US exclusively through Finch Hudson, a favorite Hudson, NY, antiques shop that is broadening its focus. "We discovered Stack during 3DaysofDesign in Copenhagen and it immediately resonated with us: it's intelligent, expressive, and deeply practical," says Michael Hofemann, who runs Finch with his partner, Andrew Arick. "Studio Moto approaches furniture the way we think about living: nothing is fixed.""
"Above: Stack's components are interlocking. They're made of raw aluminum, which is both lightweight and strong. It will develop a patina over time and is 100 percent recyclable (unlike many materials, it can be reused over and over without degrading). Above: Studio Moto describes the line as "a playful family of stackable furniture, balancing functional rigor with experimentation and delight.""
Stack is a modular shelving system composed entirely of aluminum that clicks together securely without screws or tools. Components interlock and can be configured and reconfigured in many arrangements to suit different spaces. Finch Hudson now offers Stack exclusively in the US. The raw aluminum is lightweight and strong, will develop a patina, and is 100 percent recyclable and reusable without degrading. The range includes stackable furniture, display cases, screens, room dividers, circular components for coffee tables, and sculptural totems. Parts are produced by a local high-quality manufacturer near Studio Moto's Ghent headquarters. Prices start at $3,950 for a medium multi-tiered shelf.
