An inhabited terrace in Corbara faces the Balagne landscape and the Church of the Annunciation. The project prioritizes effacement rather than architectural assertion on a sensitive site shaped by the old village, existing topography, and the church’s symbolic presence. Instead of adding a distinct architectural object, the design extends the ground to maintain continuity across the slope. The terrace reveals and emphasizes the natural gradient, aligning the built environment with the landscape. The result is a continuous spatial relationship between the terrace, the village context, and the panoramic view of Balagne.
"The project extends the ground, reveals the slope, and creates continuity, maintaining a continuous relationship between the terrace and the landscape rather than introducing a new object."
