""You can see the entire space from one vantage point,""
""You can see the living room, kitchen, and bedroom all from any point in the apartment. So I knew it needed to be cohesive and flow together.""
""To make everything cohesive, I picked a color and carried that through multiple areas," the stager says. "I pulled the blue from the focal wall in the bedroom and brought it into the kitchen in the chairs"
A one-bedroom basement unit suffered from minimal natural light, fluorescent overheads, and a sterile, dorm-like vibe. The owner and home stager introduced layered lighting—plug-in sconces by the bed, a swapped kitchen overhead fixture, and living-room lamps—to brighten and modernize the space. Metal blinds were replaced with cut-to-size faux wood blinds to ensure proper fit without custom treatments. A single color (blue) was selected and carried through the bedroom focal wall and kitchen seating to create visual continuity across the open plan. The updates added character, improved livability, and made the unit photograph well.
