Major revamp of Erith including riverside gardens complete with new community space
Briefly

The council has collaborated with residents to improve Erith, with the Riverside Gardens set to open on July 5. New features include seating, a playground, and an outdoor fitness zone. A promenade route along the river will connect the gardens to the community. A new space at 68 Pier Road will open later in July, featuring a kitchen and meeting rooms. Ongoing projects are part of the Greater Erith Regeneration Programme, aimed at further community development, including improvements to Walnut Tree Road and Erith High Street.
The refurbished gardens are set to open to the public in stages from July 5, featuring new seating, a playground, an outdoor fitness zone, and a community gardening area.
Named '68' by the public, this area will feature a kitchen, a hireable events area, meeting rooms, and a Changing Places toilet facility.
We've transformed the Riverside Gardens to make the most of its riverside location and we've created a new community space at 68 Pier Road for local people.
The Greater Erith Regeneration Programme at the London Borough of Bexley is delivering all of the improvements, funded by the council, the Mayor of London, and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).
