Kitchen of the Week: A Flemish-Inspired Contemporary Farmhouse Kitchen - Remodelista
Briefly

The client renovated a disrepair farmstead in Belfast, aiming to create a tribute to craftsmanship. Collaborating with Artichoke, a design-build firm, significant upgrades included an oak staircase and a pine-paneled library. A new wing was constructed traditionally with wooden formers and lime foundations. The highlight is a minimalist kitchen designed inspired by 19th century Flemish styles, featuring unfinished oak and intricate carvings. The kitchen's centerpiece is an island of solid oak, complementing reclaimed stone flooring and high-end appliances, showcasing both historical reverence and modern functionality.
The lower half of the island and sink countertops are Santafiora Venata sandstone from Stone Age 'designed and made' to Artichoke's specs. The faucet is by Hansgrohe.
The kitchen is situated in the new addition and features an island of solid oak. The Bellingdon Bar Stools are an Ercol design for John Lewis.
