Interns will help reconstruct Baltimore's iconic Key Bridge this summer
Briefly

A new internship program, starting this summer, will give select college students hands-on experience in the reconstruction of Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge, which collapsed last year. In partnership with MDTA and MHEC, the program aims to build skills in project and environmental management. Out of over 80 applicants, only 10 were chosen to work closely with engineers from June to August 2025. With future openings planned until the bridge's expected four-year completion, the program emphasizes professional collaboration and community engagement.
The goal of the internship program is to strengthen collaboration skills among interns, foster community engagement, and help students build professional networks that will serve them well in their future careers.
The unique internship opportunity is fairly selective, with only 10 out of more than 80 applicants from various universities ultimately being chosen for a hands-on experience.
