Inside the Home of White Lotus' Star F. Murray Abraham
"Mr. Abraham, who stars with Kristin Chenoweth in the musical adaptation of The Queen of Versailles, which just opened on Broadway, won an Academy Award in 1985 for his performance in the drama Amadeus. He also appeared in the movies Scarface, Mighty Aphrodite and The Grand Budapest Hotel, as well as the television series Homeland, for which he received an Emmy nomination. But most significantly, at least for his apartment, Mr. Abraham was a second season cast member of The White Lotus."
"During the show's extended shoot in Sicily, Mr. Abraham became close to the actor Michael Imperioli, who played his son, and to Imperioli's wife, Victoria, an interior designer. Echoing his daughter, Ms. Imperioli urged Mr. Abraham to redo the apartment, the family home since 1987. A marble mantle over a fireplace holds photographs and a statue of a female figure. An ornate fireplace screen in the shape of a peacock sits on the hearth."
F. Murray Abraham, 86, lives in a two-bedroom Manhattan duplex that has been the family home since 1987. His wife of 60 years, Kate Hannan Abraham, died three years earlier after a long illness. Initially reluctant to alter the apartment, he was urged by his daughter and by Victoria Imperioli, an interior designer and wife of his White Lotus co-star Michael Imperioli, to renovate. The renovation proceeded while he was filming abroad. Abraham's career highlights include an Academy Award for Amadeus (1985), roles in Scarface, Mighty Aphrodite and The Grand Budapest Hotel, an Emmy nomination for Homeland, and a role on The White Lotus.
