Erith post office could be partially bulldozed for new flats and townhouses
Briefly

BexleyCo Homes aims to convert the Erith post office into a housing development featuring 33 homes. The project includes retaining part of the facade of the locally listed building and constructing two new shops. Three-quarters of the new homes are designed to have two bedrooms, while eight will offer three bedrooms and one will be a single-bedroom flat. The new structure will reach six storeys in height and provide various private entrances, enhancing street engagement and security in the area. Bromley Council has yet to make a decision on the planning application.
Developer BexleyCo Homes plans to build 33 homes at 89 High Street, with part of the post office being demolished while retaining the facade of the locally listed building.
The developer emphasized retaining the south and east elevations to maintain the building's character, enhancing street activity through private entrances for ground floor apartments.
The housing development will consist of 31 flats, two three-storey townhouses, with three-quarters of the homes featuring two bedrooms, and eight flats having three bedrooms.
The new building will stand six storeys tall at its highest point, located at the junction of High Street and Bexley Road, pending Bromley Council's planning approval.
