Coming Together: Reimagining America's Downtowns at the National Building Museum examines transformations in U.S. downtowns and community-led strategies for alternative urban futures. Curated by Uwe S. Brandes and designed by Reddymade and MGMT., the exhibition is the first in the Museum's Future Cities initiative and showcases examples from more than 60 U.S. cities. The exhibition highlights adaptations to lasting changes in work, housing, mobility, entertainment, and recreation accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. It presents case studies, data infographics, large-scale video, digital interactives, and participatory activities that illustrate partnerships among mayors, employers, institutions, and communities to improve urban spaces and imagine inclusive, resilient downtowns.
