Blue Heron Farm, the summer estate previously rented by Barack and Michelle Obama, has been sold for $37 million to Les Wexner. The property was first rented by the Obamas starting in 2009 at $50,000 per week. After being taken off the rental market, the estate underwent extensive renovations by its new owners who listed the property for $39 million. The sale price was $2 million below the asking price, concluding two months after the listing began. The purchase was made through a trust tied to Wexner, managed by attorney Matthew Zieger.
The sprawling Massachusetts property, Blue Heron Farm, played host to the Obamas for three consecutive summers starting in 2009, reportedly costing $50,000 a week to rent.
The estate was sold for a staggering $37 million to billionaire businessman Les Wexner, just two months after it was listed for $39 million.
Wexner purchased the property through a trust closely tied to him, managed by his longtime attorney Matthew Zieger.
The Chilmark home was sold to new owners, who renovated the 28.5-acre estate and removed it from the rental market.
