"The design team combined the requirements for an accessible bridge and a small pavilion into a single structure, creating a unified architectural gesture that supports both movement and gathering."
"The bridge deck rises in a soft arch over the stream and existing stones, while the tower opens at the top to the sky, projecting heart-shaped light patterns onto the ground below."
Xi Bridge, or the Bridge of Happiness, is a pedestrian bridge in Huashan Greenland, Shanghai, connecting the city to the park. It serves as a circulation route and a ceremonial space. The park features a 'Path of Happiness' with open spaces and pink landscape elements. The design combines a bridge and a pavilion into a single structure made of pink concrete, featuring a gently arched deck and a tower that projects heart-shaped light patterns. The area is associated with weddings and celebrations, enhanced by the nearby Marriage Registration Center.
