Hotel El Roblar, the longest-standing hotel in Ojai, California, is set to reopen on June 19 after significant renovations. Originally opened in 1919 and later transformed into an all-inclusive spa in the 1970s, the hotel faced closure due to the Thomas Fire in 2017. The new owners aimed to preserve the hotel’s original Spanish Revival architecture while modernizing its amenities. With only 50 rooms, including bungalows and a new building, Hotel El Roblar offers an intimate experience, emphasizing its storied past alongside modern comforts.
"The lobby should look a lot like it did 100 years ago," Goode told the Ventura County Star.
According to news reports at the time, the name "El Roblar" was chosen to reflect a cluster of white oaks.
