TikTok Is So Impressed By This "Phenomenal" IKEA Room Divider Hack
"Making the most of a small apartment and its tiny layout, you're often working with minimal square footage - and you have to get creative with how you divide up a personal space. Leave it to the masses of TikTok to help find creative solutions that save money, time, and just make sense. A mother of three girls took to the platform to share how she successfully divided a single bedroom into two."
"Danielle stacked several KALLAX shelving units together in the center of the girls' room and then installed an MDF "fake wall" on the backside of the units to set off a completely separate space for her 12-year-old daughter. She painted the faux wall to match the rest of the walls in the room, and it looks like it's been there the whole time."
A parent converted one bedroom into two by stacking IKEA KALLAX shelving units centrally and installing an MDF 'fake wall' on the units' backside. The faux wall was painted to match existing walls, producing a seamless appearance. A curtain provides the entrance to the private space, with a door as an optional substitute. Bunk beds occupy the opposite side, while KALLAX cubbies store clothing, toys, arts and crafts. The approach uses only the shelving units, an MDF panel, and paint, maximizing storage, privacy, and flexibility in a small apartment without major renovation.
