This IKEA BILLY Hack Fixed a Cluttered Entryway for Just $130
The entryway lagged behind the rest of a home because it was initially furnished with affordable items and left unfinished for years. The space felt disappointing and lacked functional organization, leading to clutter and crowding. After the holidays, a full DIY transformation was completed in about 15 days. Beadboard wainscoting was installed on the walls up to about two-thirds of the height, with subtly patterned wallpaper above. A wood-toned peg rail was added under the top rail for coats, bags, and hats. Baskets were moved off the floor to wall storage, and a vintage bench was refinished from cherry to honey for a more subdued look.
"“Michela also added a vintage bench to this side of the entryway, which she refinished from a shiny cherry tone to a more subdued honey color.” The updates combined wall detailing, practical hanging storage, and a refreshed seating piece to improve both appearance and day-to-day function."
