A central birch-plywood module contains the kitchen and, behind a pocket door, the bathroom, while structurally supporting a mezzanine bedroom. Mechanical functions are concealed within the module to preserve an open feel in the rest of the apartment. The staircase functions as a piece of furniture and architecture, combining the first four wooden steps with storage and office integration, then transitioning to an open white-metal section that transmits light. The mezzanine includes a built-in headboard with storage and soft wall lighting to create an intimate alcove. A convertible sofa expands sleeping capacity to accommodate up to four people.
