"This was your typical Brooklyn brownstone. It had a lot of lives before my clients got there,"
"They bought it a number of years ago knowing it needed a lot of work. It had been chopped up into rentals, and the goal was to do it the right way, and create a house that would last for generations."
"They wanted the parlor level as a gathering space, with a strong connection to both front and back yards,"
"The front facade needed quite a bit of work,"
A comprehensive renovation converted a four-story Brooklyn brownstone into an owner triplex occupying the two lower floors and cellar, with two rental units above. Major work included restoring front and rear facades, selectively re-brownstoning elements, replacing the rear parlor and garden-level wall with glass, and installing new mechanicals including central air. Interior upgrades comprised a new interior stair in the owner apartment, all-new baths, a custom kitchen, and new flooring throughout. The parlor level was designed as a gathering space with strong connections to front and back yards. A finished cellar media room uses faux windows to feel above grade.
